Jakarta's Electric Ambulance: A New Era in Emergency Medical Services
The Indonesian capital, Jakarta, has just welcomed its first electric ambulance as part of a effort to enhance the city's healthcare system, particularly in emergency medical services. This groundbreaking vehicle is not only an important step forward for the city's health management but also serves as a testament to the collaborative efforts between public and private sectors.
According to Gubernor Pramono Anung, the electric ambulance marks the beginning of a new era in Jakarta's healthcare system. "This is an ambulances listrik pertama yang akan dioperasikan oleh Pemerintah DKI Jakarta," he stated during the handover ceremony at the city hall.
The donation was made by Yayasan Life After Mine (LINE), and it will be operated by Dinas Kesehatan DKI Jakarta, which has already implemented 96 ambulances. These vehicles provide pre-hospital care, emergency evacuation between hospitals, and participate in international events.
The new electric ambulance boasts a range of 300 kilometers on a single charge, with an 80% charging time of just 80 minutes using the basis charging feature. This represents a significant improvement over traditional ambulances, which often rely on fuel.
"We see this as a small step towards our mission to make Jakarta a greener city," said Mochammad Bihar, Chairman of Yayasan LINE. "This donation marks an important milestone in our efforts to integrate sustainable energy solutions into healthcare services."
Governor Anung expressed his gratitude for the support from the private sector and emphasized the need to protect this resource, citing its potential as a model for future expansion.
The Jakarta government's adoption of electric ambulances is an innovative approach to addressing emergency medical needs while reducing carbon emissions. As the city continues to grow and develop, it will be exciting to see how this new initiative shapes the future of healthcare in Indonesia's capital.
