KPK Celebrates Victory in Taspen Case, Commits to Eradicating Corruption
The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) welcomed the verdict delivered by the Central Jakarta District Court's Corruption Crimes Court (Tipikor) in the case of fake investment by PT Taspen, which resulted in a staggering loss of Rp1 trillion for the state.
"This verdict is in line with KPK's commitment to eradicating corruption, not only as a deterrent, but also to restore the country's finances optimally," said KPK Spokesman Budi Prasetyo in a written statement on Tuesday (7/10).
The KPK praised the judges' consideration that the fake investment by PT Taspen had caused significant losses to the Tabungan Hari Tua (THT) program, which is funded by 4.8 million state civil apparatus employees.
"Given the severity of the impact, we urge the law enforcement agencies to thoroughly investigate and prosecute those involved in this case," said Budi. "We hope that this verdict will serve as a catalyst for preventing such corruption in the future through serious mitigation and system improvements."
The verdict was delivered by Presiding Judge Purwanto S. Abdullah, with judges Sunoto and Mulyono Dwi Purwanto also serving on the panel. The case was heard on October 6, 2025.
Mantap Direktur Utama PT Taspen Antonius Nicholas Stephanus Kosasih was sentenced to 10 years in prison and a fine of Rp500 million, with an alternative sentence of six months' imprisonment.
The judges also imposed additional penalties, including repayment of damages worth US$127.057; Sin$283.002; EUR10.000; THB1.470; GBP30; JPY128.000; HKD500; KRW1.262.000; and Rp2.877.000, with an alternative sentence of three years' imprisonment.
In addition to Antonius Kosasih, the court also found Ekiawan Heri Primaryanto, the former Director General of PT Insight Investment Management, guilty and sentenced him to nine years in prison and a fine of Rp500 million, with an alternative sentence of six months' imprisonment.
The judges also ordered the seizure of shares from Unit Penyertaan Reksadana worth 996,694,959.5143 units, which were confiscated for the state and counted as part of the government's loss recovery efforts.
"The KPK has also designated PT IIM as a suspect in this case," concluded Budi.
