Jakarta's MRT Integration Tariff: A Step Closer to Affordability
In a bid to make Jakarta's Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) more accessible, the Provincial Head of Transportation, Syafrin Liputo, has announced that the city has finally met six key integration standards. These standards encompass infrastructures and facilities, service integration, route integration, tariff integration, payment system integration, and data integration.
The sixth standard, which is currently being implemented, focuses on tariff integration, payment system integration, and data information integration. Syafrin revealed that the introduction of this new tariff system will enable Jakarta's commuters to travel more affordably across various modes of public transportation, including MRT.
According to Syafrin, with the implementation of the integrated tariff system, a commuter can now enjoy unlimited rides on three different modes of transport β Transjakarta, MRT, and LRT β for just Rp 10,000. This affordable option is expected to make public transportation more appealing to Jakarta's residents.
The new tariff system aims to provide commuters with flexibility and convenience while reducing the cost of travel. The integration of various transportation modes under a single ticket system will also simplify the commute experience, making it easier for people to navigate the city's complex public transport network.
