Fuel Price Transparency Still Elusive for Drivers The UK's competition watchdog, the CMA, has once again highlighted the need for greater transparency in fuel pricing, raising concerns that some retailers are not passing on wholesale price falls quickly enough to drivers.

This lack of transparency is a long standing issue that has left many motorists feeling frustrated and exploited by the fuel industry.

Since May, costs have fallen at fuel pumps, but prices remain significantly higher than before the Iran conflict, with retailer profit margins either at or above historically high levels seen in 2025.
